Nasri agrees with me & The calm before the storm... 12/12/2010

Morning all!

Feels like the calm before the storm today. The war of words between our players and United has lessened as both sides concentrate on tomorrows match. For all the build up I certainly hope it'll be a good match, unfortunately I also have the feeling that the match might turn out to be a draw, as so often happens to match's which display enormous amounts of build-up (hopefully I haven't jinxed us with that comment...).

Nasri's comments today have echoed my own from yesterday. "Manchester United is not the same team as before, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Tevez it was a little bit scary to play at Old Trafford," Samir's comment that United are no longer as scary as in previous years is no doubt a sentiment shared by many across the league. Aging top class players and youngsters who do not look to be the equals of the old guard has found United in a position this season which has affected us for a few seasons now, that is the symptoms of switching off at crucial times in matches and the dropping of points as a result. Yes Rooney is slowly getting back to his best and is by far their best player, yes Vidic looks like one of the best centrebacks in the league, but beyond these two I don't think I would swap any of the other United players for any of ours.
Is Nani or Valencia better than Theo or Arshavin? Would any of the United midfield displace Cesc, Nasri or Song? No is the simple answer.C'mon the Arsenal!

Well its a quiet Sunday so I'll sign off here. There'll be plenty to comment on in the next 48 hours so see you then.

The Afterthought.
